Evacuation zones¶
Queensland councils map storm tide evacuation areas, and the state says to ask your council whether your home is in one.
Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
The council pages loaded do not list evacuation centres or cyclone shelters. Do not assume any shelter is open. The Queensland Government says information about evacuations, cyclone shelters, and evacuation centres is broadcast on local ABC radio and other media, by Emergency Alert, and by your local council. Check the council disaster dashboard and follow official announcements.
