Barnwell County hurricane guide¶
Barnwell County Emergency Management, at 57 Wall Street in Barnwell, coordinates preparedness and response for severe weather and for man-made incidents, including exercises tied to the Savannah River Site and Plant Vogtle. The National Weather Service recognizes Barnwell County as StormReady. The county links to South Carolina evacuation routes and flood information, and asks residents to enroll in CodeRED.

Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Barnwell County does not publish a shelter list on its emergency management page. Barnwell is an inland county that hosts evacuees from the coast, so check county alerts and local media for shelter information.
