Somerset County hurricane guide

The Somerset County Office of Emergency Management handles emergency planning, hazardous materials response, search and rescue, and fire and EMS coordination for the county. The county pages read do not publish evacuation zones, a shelter list, or an alert signup, so follow your town's emergency management office for local orders. The office is in Hillsborough.

Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

The Somerset County pages read do not list shelters. Check your town's alerts and its emergency management office to find out whether a shelter is open before you go.

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
