King County hurricane guide¶
King County, a ranching county in the Rolling Plains with Guthrie as the county seat, does not publish an emergency management page on its website. The courthouse in Guthrie is the county contact. The county is far from the coast, but Heavy rain from the remains of a tropical storm can cause flash flooding and high winds this far from the coast. Never drive through flooded roads. Dial 911 from anywhere in the county in an emergency.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from King County Judge's Office. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.

King County does not publish a standing list of shelters on its website. If shelters open, follow announcements from the county and your city. Do not go to a shelter until it is announced as open.
