Kerr County hurricane guide¶
Kerr County Emergency Management, in Kerrville, keeps the county emergency plan and works with state and federal agencies in disasters. Kerr County is in the Hill Country, where flash flooding on rivers and creeks is the main danger, and the county urges residents to sign up for CodeRED emergency notifications. Dial 911 in an emergency.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Kerr County does not publish a standing list of shelters on its website. If shelters open, follow announcements from the county and your city. Do not go to a shelter until it is announced as open.

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
