Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Otsego County does not publish a standing list of shelters on the pages we checked, so do not assume any location will be open. Sign up for the county's Hyper-Reach alerts and check the Office of Emergency Services for announcements. The county advises keeping your local emergency numbers handy and staying tuned to local radio and television stations for updates.
