Cass County hurricane guide

In Cass County, the County Judge's Office in Linden leads emergency management, as Texas law makes the County Judge the county's emergency management director. The county is in the far northeast corner of Texas, but the remains of tropical storms can bring heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and tornadoes. Keep emergency alerts turned on in your phone settings, follow local news and officials during storms, and never drive through flooded roads.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Cass County Judge's Office. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.

Cass County does not post shelter information on its website. If shelters open during a storm, county and city officials will announce them, so follow local news and call the County Judge's Office with questions.
