Burlington County hurricane guide

The Burlington County Office of Emergency Management, in the county Public Safety department, works with the county's 40 municipalities on preparedness and sends emergency notifications for fires, outages, floods, hurricanes, evacuations, and road closures through CivicReady. Burlington County borders the Delaware River, and its Hurricane Survival Guide for New Jersey and other guides are on the county preparedness page. The county does not publish evacuation zones, so follow county and town alerts and your town's emergency management office.

Open only when announced

Burlington County does not publish a standing list of storm shelters. The county Emergency Shelter in Westampton, a 60 bed temporary housing facility behind the Human Services Building, is designated for crisis use with the Red Cross during floods and hurricanes, but its page said it was still under construction. Do not go to any site until the county or your town says it is open. Follow CivicReady alerts and your town's emergency management office for shelter information.
