What to know in Nassau Bay¶
- The city asks residents in an evacuation zone to learn their evacuation routes now, keep gas tanks full during hurricane season, and leave when local authorities give instructions.
- After a storm, check the city's Storm Recovery Permitting Guide before repairs. Roofing, drywall, wall, window, electrical, and many other repairs need a city permit, while tarps, boarding, and debris removal do not. Homes in a flood zone with damage of 50 percent or more of market value may have to be elevated or rebuilt.
