Brooks County hurricane guide¶
Brooks County Emergency Management, based in Falfurrias, coordinates the county's response to disasters, with its Emergency Operation Center inside the Ed Rachal Memorial Library. The county is inland in South Texas, but tropical storms and hurricanes that move inland can bring heavy rain, flash flooding, strong winds, and tornadoes. Sign up for the county's Hyper-Reach alerts before a storm and never drive through flooded roads.
