Chesterfield County Emergency Management, run from the Emergency Services office in Chesterfield, plans for disasters and also runs the county E-911 center. The county says it is vulnerable to hurricanes, winter storms, floods, tornadoes, thunderstorms, industrial incidents, and transportation accidents. It is an inland county with no coastal evacuation zones, and its site did not list shelters or an alert signup on the pages checked, so follow county and state announcements for storm instructions.

Chesterfield County did not publish a standing list of shelters on the pages checked. Shelters open only when announced, so do not go to a site until it is announced as open. Check county and state announcements, and the state shelter page, for open shelters.
