Dauphin County hurricane guide¶
The Dauphin County Department of Public Safety runs the county 911 center and the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) from Harrisburg. The county's planning documents name flooding as a leading hazard, and Dauphin County sits along the Susquehanna River. The county tells residents to be ready to shelter in place or to evacuate, and to go to the local reception center and register if evacuation is ordered.

Open only when announced

Dauphin County tells residents to go to the local reception center and register if an evacuation is ordered. The county does not publish a standing list of reception centers on the pages checked, so follow county alerts and local radio and TV for which centers are open. Do not go to a site until it is announced.
