Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

Gloucester County does not publish a standing shelter list or map. Its evacuation instructions say pets will not be allowed in public shelters and tell residents what to take to a shelter, such as medications, special dietary food, and medical information. Do not go to any site until the county or your town says it is open. Follow Gloucester County Alert and your town's emergency management office for shelter announcements.
