Allegany County hurricane guide¶
The Allegany County Department of Emergency Services includes the county's Emergency Management Division, the 911 Joint Communications Center, and emergency medical services. Allegany is a western Maryland mountain county with no Know Your Zone evacuation zones. The county pages reviewed do not give hurricane specific evacuation guidance, so sign up for county emergency notifications and follow instructions that come through them.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Allegany County's pages that were reviewed do not list shelters or describe how shelters are announced. Follow county emergency notifications and call the Department of Emergency Services at 301-876-9155 for local guidance.

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
