Monroe hurricane guide¶
Monroe is the parish seat of Ouachita Parish, inland in northeast Louisiana on the Ouachita River. Heavy rain, flooding, high winds, tornadoes, and long power outages are the main dangers when a hurricane or its remnants reach the area. The city has its own police and fire departments and runs its own water and sewer systems.
