Miller County hurricane guide¶
The Emergency Management Agency of Miller County in Colquitt coordinates mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery for natural and man-made disasters. The county says it is a certified Storm Ready Community and prepares for hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes. Miller County and Baker County share one 911 center.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Miller County's pages do not list shelters. Wait for an announcement through the county's alerts before going to any shelter.
Cities and towns¶
Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
