Haralson County hurricane guide¶
The Haralson County Emergency Management Homeland Security Agency in Buchanan manages emergency preparedness programs for the county, writes plans for natural and manmade disasters, and coordinates local agencies during emergencies. It works with GEMA and FEMA.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Haralson County does not publish a list of designated shelters or a shelter page on the pages checked. If an evacuation or shelter is announced, the county says it will use its emergency alerts, so sign up for them and check the county website. Do not travel to a site until it is announced as open.
Cities and towns¶
Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
