What to know in Key Colony Beach¶
- There will be no emergency services during or right after a storm, and power, phone, and water will likely be out, so the city strongly advises leaving when a mandatory evacuation is ordered. After a hurricane, only residents and business owners with proper ID are let onto the island during cleanup.
- City canals close to boat traffic when a hurricane watch is issued. Trailer your boat out before the watch. From the watch until the tourist evacuation order is lifted, you may park a securely anchored boat and trailer in your driveway, at least 20 inches from the edge of the road.
