What to know in Indian Harbour Beach¶
- Causeways stay open before a storm but are not safe to cross in high winds. After the storm they close until the Florida Department of Transportation inspects them.
- Police, fire, EMS, and utility crews may not be able to reach you once winds pass safe levels. The Fire Department watches its own wind sensors to decide when to stop responding.
- When you return after a storm, carry a valid ID that shows your current address. Water comes from the City of Melbourne, and sewer service from Brevard County Utilities.
