Ocoee hurricane guide¶
Ocoee is an inland city in west Orange County with many lakes, where hurricanes bring high winds, power outages, and flooding from high lakes and ponds. The city has its own police and fire departments and runs water, sewer, and garbage service. During a major hurricane the city opens its own emergency hotline.

What to know in Ocoee¶
- During a major hurricane, the city opens an Emergency Hotline to report downed lines, fallen trees blocking roads, and flooding, and to get updates on sandbags, water, and city services. The number is shared on the city website and social media before and during the storm.
- Ocoee has many lakes. Flooding can come from high lakes and ponds, from streams, and from shallow ponding in streets and yards. Check your flood risk on the city interactive map or FEMA flood maps.
